What happens if you cut your hair with regular scissors?

We all have a pair of regulat scissors that we have once used to cut our bangs, but what really happens if you cut your hair with regular scissors?

There are a few main differences between regular scissors and hairdressing scissors. The blade on hairdressing scissors is sharp for slice cutting and the blade on regular scissors blunt for brute force cutting.

So what happens if you cut your hair with these regular scissors?

Regular scissors damages your hair by bending and pulling each strand. The most common telltale sign that someone hair cut their hair with regular scissors is a lot of split ends.

The blunt brute force of regular scissors cuts your hair horribly like using two rocks to cut through papaper.

Hairdressing and barber scissors use fine thing blades for slicing. Similar to a chef knife that cuts through meat like butter, the professional hairdressing scissor will slice through each strand of hair without leaving a trace.

Regular scissors also typically have bigger handles to allow for a stronger grip. Hairdressing scissors are different than regular scissors as they have a smaller more elegant handle due to their lighter grip.

If you use regular scissors to cut your hair, you will damage your hair leaving it with splitends and an uneven balance.

What do you do if you happen to cut your hair with regular scissors?

A professional hairdresser or barber will tell you that they need to cut it short. Cutting your hair with regular scissors causes irreparable damage and the only way to fix this is to cut it shorter.

Whether you are using eyebrow scissors, kitchen shears, fabric scissors, nail clippers or simply dull scissors to cut hair, you will create splitends, an uneven balance and irreparable damage.

The most common damage to hair from regular blunt scissors is with tugging and pulling. This hurts a lot and leaves your hair damaged beyond repair.

Regular scissors use a rough blunt blade that will smash, tug and pull your hair. This is the same as taking a kitchen butter knife to cut your hair with.

We strongly recommend against using regular scissors at home to cut your hair, including fabric, blunt, kitchen or eyebrow scissors.
